The Many Faces of Fear

Have you ever felt anxious, panic, paranoia, constant worry, tension, scared, distrustful, defensive, trapped, and insecure? This is called chronic fear. How about the feelings of uneasiness? This is a milder form of fear.

Fear comes in many faces—here are a few that David Hawkins discussed in his book “Letting Go.” Many of us have experienced fear in one or more of the following ways: fear of living, loving, rejection, failure, poverty, judgment, criticism, disapproval, responsibility, decision making, losing control, change, security, death, feelings, and fear of fear itself. “It is said that most people spend their lives regretting the past and fearing the future, so they are unable to experience joy in the present.” -David R. Hawkins.

I have experienced fear in many ways and was paralyzed by it. At the time I did not know what it was, so I called it “stress.” I was constantly worried, feeling out of control, defensive, insecure, and trapped. I kept saying to myself, “only if I could be free” I thought that my job and family were the problem, and they were demanding too much of my energy and time. But I didn’t realize that I was causing my own suffering. I wanted to be free, but I didn’t know how or where to begin.

I was in a state of extreme suffering and I didn’t know how to relieve this pressure that was building up inside of me. Once the pressure got too high, I would explode in anger at myself and loved ones. I blamed them for “making me angry and causing my stress” and demanded that they change so that I could feel better. What a joke! As if their behavior change would really help me to feel better. At that time, I did not know that my limiting beliefs, thoughts, feelings and emotions created my perceptions, which led to my fears. Due to the intensive suffering and my inability to handle it, I became obsessed with feeling better. I wanted to be happy and free so that I could live with ease. I read many books, came across many teachings, teachers, and coaches, but my biggest shift occurred when I discovered PSYCH-K®. I immediately found a PSYCH-K® facilitator and experienced a profound shift. I let go of years of trauma, hate, and resentment that caused the fears. I learned that I am not my feelings, thoughts and emotions. So I am learning to reframe my thinking, examine what I believe—thoughts, feelings and emotions. Most importantly, how to release fear and create what I want using the PSYCH-K process. I am experiencing a more constructive way of thinking, feeling, and being in the world.

What is PSYCH-K®? Rob Williams, the originator of PSYCH-K®, defines it as a “change process that allows individuals to quickly and painlessly change subconscious beliefs that are limiting the full expression of their potential in life...this includes mental, emotional, spiritual and physical wellbeing.” The purpose of PSYCH-K® is to facilitate a shift in subconscious beliefs that will become consciously aligned with your desired beliefs, habits and behaviors. PSYCH-K® empowers you to address your fears and transform limiting subconscious beliefs and perspectives that create feelings and emotions of survival, separation, approval seeking and control.

Research in neuroscience suggests that 95% of consciousness is subconscious and these underlying beliefs, behaviors and habits are a result of cultural conditioning and programming that impacts human behaviors in a limited manner. PSYCH-K® enables you to shift from thoughts of limitations, anxious feelings and emotions that lead to negative perspectives. You will be empowered to choose what you want instead and bring new perspectives, feelings and emotions to the awareness of your true nature as an unlimited being.

If you are experiencing anxiety, panic, paranoia, worries, tension, approval seeking, wanting to control, distrustful, defensive, trapped, and insecure.
